TEAM REFEREE REQUIREMENTS

All teams are required to provide referees.  As you know, we are an all-volunteer organization, and we need the families’ help to make the season successful. You might not have been able to coach, but perhaps you can become a referee on Saturdays.

Here are the requirements based on the division your child is playing in.

Referee Points, Why?

Regional and Area playoffs are a privilege not a given. In order to be invited to playoffs, a team must do their region assigned duty(s) and fulfill the referee requirements. Once in Playoffs, there will be additional referee requirements. Information will be given to the coaches prior to playoffs on the playoff point requirement.

Team Referee Requirements

30 points required for Divisions 10U, 12U and 14U

16 points required for Divisions 16U, 19U

You must be a certified referee to earn points

U8 The home team is expected to referee their game. Each team will supply one assistant referee for the game.  Each team needs 2 U8 official referees. At least one should be new and take the on-line U8 official referee course.

U10 1 A/R is expected from each team for the match.  Each team needs at least 2 regional referees (or higher).  One new person needs to take the Regional Referee course (either the combined on-line and companion course or the full day course).

 How to earn referee points

To get 4 Points

1.      Sign up on the scheduler in advance

2.      Be in full uniform

3.      Officiate as a neutral official (not your child/siblings/team’s game)

To get 3 Points

1.      Sign up on the scheduler in advance

2.      Not be in full uniform

3.      Officiate as a neutral official (not your child/siblings/team’s game)

To get 2 Points

1.      Sign up on the scheduler in advance

2.      Be in full Uniform

3.      Officiate your own game

        Or

1.      Sign up game day

2.      Be in Full uniform

3.      Officiate as a neutral official (not your child/siblings/team’s game)

                To get 1 Point

1.      Sign up game day

2.      Do your own game or any game

Note! You can sign up for multiple weeks on the scheduler, please remove yourself in advance if you will not be able to do the games so others can fill in.

Referee Bucks

You have the chance to earn referee gear and it is very easy. 15 points gets you some good stuff. Here is all you need to do to get a referee buck. You can get an extra referee buck for doing the last games of the day.

1.      Sign up on the referee scheduler in advance

2.      Be in full uniform

3.      Officiate as a neutral official

EARN EXTRA REFEREE GEAR

• Get 1 Referee buck for a 4-point game
• Earn 15 bucks - choose your reward
• An additional 10 bucks (25 total) – get second reward
• An additional 15 bucks (40 total) – another reward
• Upgrade to intermediate or Advanced referee and get your choice of 4 items
